Terms of use and license

Last updated: 12 October 2026.

Product and purchase

Windows Tweaks by Jose is a Windows application that brings together system settings, maintenance, diagnostics, repair, cleanup, application and driver management. The website describes each feature and its precautions. The planned price is €19.99 as a one-time payment. Purchase and download are not yet enabled; these terms do not constitute an available checkout offer.

When enabled, Paddle will act as Merchant of Record for checkout, payment collection and transaction taxes. The developer supplies the software and license. Before payment, checkout must show the contractual seller, final price, delivery details, terms and any required consent.

License

The planned license allows up to two active devices at a time and includes future updates to Twester without recurring payments. A device may be deactivated and another activated using the available app controls. The license is for the purchaser’s personal or internal use; it may not be resold, publicly shared or used to distribute the application. No rights that cannot lawfully be restricted are limited.

Use and Windows changes

The application changes the local PC only when the user selects and confirms an action. Some features require administrator privileges and may change the registry or services, remove components, or irreversibly delete data. Read each warning and keep backups. Features depend on the Windows edition, version, hardware and configuration; no specific performance improvement or compatibility with every PC is guaranteed.

Windows is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Windows Tweaks by Jose is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.

Privacy policy

Data and purposes

  • Website visit: the server may process IP address, date and time, requested path and technical browser details to deliver and secure the site and diagnose errors. System logs on the VPS are configured with a maximum retention period of 30 days. Infrastructure providers may process technical metadata under their own policies.
  • Purchase: Paddle processes checkout as Merchant of Record and handles data needed for payment, billing, taxes, fraud prevention and order support under its own notices. The license server receives Paddle customer, transaction and event identifiers and the email needed to deliver the key.
  • License and activation: the server stores the purchase email, transaction ID, a hash of the license key, an encrypted copy used to resend that same key, license status/timestamps and technical events. When a license is activated, validated or deactivated, the app sends the key, a persistent random device identifier and the computer name. The server uses these data to enforce the two-device limit, validate the license and prevent abuse.
  • On the PC: the app stores locally the data needed to remember the license and device identifier. Review of the current code indicates it does not send the PC inventory, tweak history or personal files to the server.

Legal basis, providers and retention

Processing necessary to deliver a purchase and administer a license is based on the contract; security and abuse prevention on legitimate interests; and accounting records or official requests on legal obligations. Intended providers include Paddle for checkout, OVHcloud for the VPS, and Cloudflare for DNS, protection and web delivery. License email is sent using Resend (smtp.resend.com). Resend receives the recipient email address and the full message, including the license key, as well as delivery metadata. Resend states that it retains email and log data for 30 days on Free, Pro and Scale plans, and backups for 7 days; after account termination, remaining data is deleted within 90 days. Resend states that transfers outside the EEA are covered by its DPA and Standard Contractual Clauses, with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as an additional mechanism. See its GDPR and DPA information, Privacy Policy and subprocessor list.

Personal and technical data linked to a license are kept while the license remains active. If a refund is approved, a chargeback is confirmed, or another event revokes the license, the server automatically deletes the purchase email, encrypted key, license hash, device identifiers and names, and associated purchase record 90 days after revocation. Technical webhook event identifiers are deleted after 90 days. The deletion task runs when the service starts and daily thereafter; this task does not delete data for active licenses. Paddle may separately retain invoices and records required by law. OVHcloud Standard automatic restore points have a 24-hour retention period according to the selected service option. In addition, a manual recovery copy of the server database and configuration exists, protected by restricted administrator-only access permissions. It is kept only while needed to recover the service and will be deleted when no longer needed. Data deleted from the active database may remain in that copy until it is deleted.

Your rights and contact

People in the EEA may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or object where applicable, and request portability where applicable, by contacting the email above. They may also complain to their competent data protection authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Paddle may act as an independent controller for checkout data and handles requests about its processing under its own notices. The reviewed website code contains no advertising analytics; this must be rechecked before adding tools or cookies.

The app’s connection to the license server transmits the data described above. Do not send license keys or payment details in support messages.

Refunds and withdrawal rights

The license is a digital product. Once sales are available, customers can view or request help with an order or refund through Paddle’s order support page or by emailing josemiranda199209@gmail.com. Paddle processes payment as Merchant of Record and applies its refund process; each request is considered based on its circumstances and applicable consumer law. No legally available refund right is promised away or excluded in advance.

Applicable withdrawal rights for consumers in the European Union will be respected. The exception for digital content whose supply begins during the withdrawal period may be relied on only after all legal requirements are met, including prior express consent, the required acknowledgement and confirmation. Checkout must be configured to obtain and record those requirements before immediate delivery is enabled. This website does not yet offer an active purchase.

To locate an order, Paddle may ask for the email used at purchase or the order ID. Do not email card details.
